For 120 years Belgrade University students are gathering to state their talents and artist affinity through singing, dancing, playing and acting in ensembles that make Academic Cultural Artist Society Branko Krsmanovic. In 1884 was founded Academic Chorus Obilic, in 1922 Academic Theatre and 1945 ensemble of national dances and songs and ensemble of national music. In foundation there were two more ensembles, jazz and symphony orchestra; during 60's they stop with work and their members became leading musicians of professional ensembles- Symphony and Jazz orchestra RTS and Belgrade philharmonic. At the moment each of ensembles contributes to reputation and affirmation of society worldwide leading on to contribute of previous generation artist in each ensemble. All ensembles accomplish exceptional successes on international festivals. The epithet: he Ambassadors of good will and culture - we get thanks to high quality of our programs. Beside ensemble in our structure we have agency ABK dealing with concerts organization of our ensemble and ensemble guests. Agency has significant rank among others similar. Reception of new members is in the middle of September every year. Act, sing, play and dance with us! ACADEMIC CHORUS OBILIC founded in 1884 on University in Belgrade, former Big School with name Academic Singing Society Obilic. The chorus conductors were Josif Marinkovic, Stanislav Binicki, Jovan Bandur, Lovro Matacic, Svetolik Pascan and Branko Dragutinovic. Couple of years after continues with work 1945. with management of maestro Bogdan Babic, chorus / named Academic chorus/ becomes significant factor of former Yugoslav music production, numerous acknowledgements testifies: first prizes in Arec, Langolen, Moscow, Vienna, Minchen,... Since 1981 professor Mrs. Darinka Matic-Marovic is chorus conductor and art manager. With her big creativity, energy and enthusiasm she achieve highest art ranges of Academic chorus Branko Krsmanovic on domestic and international music scene. Among biggest chorus successes enumerates: eight three-months long tours in USA and Canada (over 500 concerts), as well as tours in Sweden, Finland, Bohemia, Slovakia, Poland, China, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Great Britain, France, Spain, Hungary, Greece, participation on celebration of 2000 years of Christianity in Rome and on first world chorus festival in Vienna in 2001, 2003 on jubilee 25th International festival of chamber music in Santorini. Last international perform was realized in July 2004 on 4th international chorus festival in Pueblo (Mexico). Ensemble performed in world's most famous halls: Carnegie Hall in New York, Acropolis opera in Nice, Konserthuset in Stockholm, Conservatorium Hall Tchaikovsky in Moscow, Hall of Berlin Philharmonic, Hall of Los Angeles Philharmonic, Constitution Hall in Washington, Irodio theatre in Athens and Golden Hall Muzikferajna in Vienna. Yugoslavians made singing an integral part of every day life. To arrive in chorus Branko Krsmanovic is as hard as bring together an Olympic team. New York Times. Academic theatre was founded by group of Belgrade University students in 1922 on meeting in hotel Moscow. From its origin it was avant-garde, turned to new writers and modern theatre expression. Period 1922-1941 was marked with placing most significant pieces of drama literature. At the end of Second World War, Academic theatre act within AKUD Branko Krsmanovic Rice of Academic theatre is linked with director Miroslav Belovic, who was Art manager for whole decade. Shows made during that period were graded from critics and audience as mature scene achievements which bring freshness in our theatre life. In that time young writer were very successful: Aleksandar Obrenovic, Jovan Lirilov and Bora Draskovic. Festivals came one after another, numerous group and individual prizes were won, artist managers and directors were replaced, generation of young and talented amateur also and Academic theatre remain inspired and avant-garde donating its best individuals to Theatre art as professional actors, directors, writers, scenographers , costume designers... In expansion of student theatre amateurism Academic Theatre more and more present on international scene. It took participation in Nancy, Wroclaw, Istanbul, Erlanger, Liege, Bezanson, Potsdam, Prague and others regularly winning many significant prizes. With big success tours in Italy, Bohemia, Poland, England, Netherlands, France, Finland, Hungary, Germany and Bulgaria were organized. Ensemble of national games and songs was founded in 1945 as one of activities cultural artist society of Belgarde University students. First official affirmation they got on festival of Yugoslav youth in 1948. With arrival /1949/ of Branko Markovic champion of Ballet Belgrade Opera, ensemble begun with work on serious improving of our rich folklore inheritance of our people. Gaining international experience and respect begun with perform in Germany/world students festival in Munich/ 1951 and on Balkan festival /Ankara 1954/ we won first prize. Full maturity ensemble confirmed winning gold medals on World festival of youth and students in Moscow 1957 and Vienna 1959.Gold medal of Damask was next. Biggest acknowledges in country and abroad, won prizes on many festivals include this ensemble in to most famous in country and abroad and bring it epithet Ambassadors of good will and culture. Among most significant perform on all continents /except Australia/ includes: eight month long world tour, five performs in countries of Latin America, four three months long tours in USA and Canada. Appearances in most prominent halls (Palace Shaio, Bolshoi theatre, Begas Artes, Paris and Rome Opera, Carnegie Hall...) only confirmed high reputation of ensemble. During last couple of years ensemble performed in Israel, twice in China, on Mediterranean games in Tunisia, Balkan festival in Ohrid, festivals in Greece and Slovenia and last performance was on world festival of folklore in Dramondwill (Canada) in July 2004. One can never found more picturesque and various folklore. And I have never ever see dance performance more beautiful than show of Yugoslav national ballet Krsmanovic when it appeared in Carnegie Hall. Ensemble of national music was founded in 1951 with violinist Vlastimir Jelic in front. Eminent musician in this orchestra was accordion player Tosa Elezovic. Since 1957 Ensemble of national music equally contributes to art quality and success to ensemble of national games and songs Branko Krsmanovic as its integral part. Ensemble achieved significant results on international music podium in New Orleans (USA) 1976, Belgium and Netherlands 1987. Biggest success was gold medal on world festival of youth and students in Moscow 1957. With repertoire including cultural inheritance of all parts of ex Yugoslavia, ensemble contributes to cultural education of many local communities. With great consideration for their permanent contribute we should mention managers and pedagogues who upraise this orchestra: Miodrag Jankovic, Vladeta Kandic, Dusan Saponja, Dusan Suvajac, Aleksandar Cutaja and others. High performing quality characterizes Ensemble of national games and songs Branko Krsmanovic whether it is about music or game. It is hard to find ensemble which achieve similar perfection. The Peking Daily Phenomenal orchestra! Especially clarinetist who play beautiful melodies. One can think his music can seduce snake to play in tempo.
