What types of mosquito nets are there on the market?

Today there is a wide range of solutions adapted to different needs and types of openings. Fixed mosquito nets are the most convenient option for windows that do not need to be added or shaken from the outside. Roller mosquito nets are extremely popular because the netting is rolled up into a box, making them convenient to use on kitchen or bedroom windows. Pleated mosquito nets (accordion system) are ideal for balcony doors and large glass walls, which are easily moved horizontally and do not take up additional space. Also, there are classic mosquito nets on the wing, which open like a door, which is an excellent solution for frequent passages.

What material is the mesh made of?

The quality of the net is crucial for the longevity of the mosquito net. Modern nets are most often made of fiberglass (glass fibers) coated with a special PVC material. This composition makes the mesh resistant to UV radiation, high temperatures and moisture, which means that it will not fade or rust over time. The edges are often reinforced with brushes to prevent even the smallest insects from entering. The materials are environmentally friendly, non-flammable and very durable, even with frequent handling.

Do mosquitoes obstruct air flow and visibility?

One of the biggest misconceptions is that mosquito nets significantly "close" the space. On the contrary, modern mesh is designed to have an optimal weave density that prevents insects from entering, but allows for maximum air circulation. In terms of visibility, the gray color of the mesh proved to be the best because it is the most neutral to the human eye - it does not reflect sunlight and is almost invisible from a distance of several meters. So you can enjoy the view and airy home without any feeling of obstruction.
