Building of the Air Command in Zemun was filed as a monument and placed in the Aviator square at No. 12. It was built in 1935, designed by the architect Dragisa Brašovan, in the place where once stood the building of the Military Command in Zemun. It is considered to be one of the most original works of architecture, as well as a significant work of modern Yugoslavia between the two world wars. For a long time the building was the tallest in Zemun and still remains one of most dominant structures as part of the old center. It was built with a foundation in the shape of the quadrilateral with an inner courtyard and garden. Set up as an independent block building, it was designed as part of a building bursting of the military command in the Main Street 5, with which it forms an urban whole. It has a ground floor and four floors above which rises proportionally matched with seven-story tower, whose height is jagged and accelerated central dominant.

Balanced volume of the main facade is accentuated by lateral projections ground and first two floors. Side walls are characterized by uniform rhythm of building openings and discreet and balanced set voluminous figure of Icarus, who with his mythological symbolism attached to the meaning and purpose of the structure. The building is characterized by originality, visual expression, internal dynamics and attention to detail. Building of the Air Command in Zemun has a distinct architectural and cultural- historical value.

During the NATO bombing in 1999 the building suffered significant damage including the complete collapse of the right and left wings, as well as the damaged tower, which is located in the central part of the building. Although repairing the damage has begun, the building has not been fully restored. In particular, the tower remained completely intact after the bombing.
