The "Vaznesenjska" (Ascension) church was constructed as a town church in 1863 and still bears the original flag of Belgrade's city management.

The red fabric flag has an icon of Heavenly Ascension on one side with golden-embroidery letters that say "Belgrade city district 1938" and on the other side there is an icon of St. Petka with the message: "She helps those who respect her saint day".
