Back to: Formal dresses
Special occasions go for special clothes, but how do you find that perfect dress that suits not only the occasion but also your body and style? Below we wrote about exactly that.
How to choose the perfect dress for my figure?
All of us at least once saw a picture of a dress, pants or some other piece of clothing that we fell in love with and wanted in our closet. However, when we tried it, the reflection in the cabin mirror was quite different than expected. Likewise, some pieces that looked bad on the hanger, but we tried them on at the persuasion of a friend or boyfriend, turned out to be a hit. The whole philosophy is that different cuts suit different body shapes. If you have an hourglass figure, dresses with a belt and accentuated waist will highlight your curves perfectly. For a pear-shaped body shape - an A-line dress is the perfect choice. Such models will emphasize the upper part of the body, while the lower part of the dress falls slightly and hides wider hips. If you have a figure opposite to the one mentioned above, the so-called strawberry shape, choose dresses with a high waist and a shallow V-neckline. And if you have a rectangular body, choose dresses that create the illusion of a waist, such as those with a belt or corset. It's important to adjust the dress to yourself, not the other way around. Try different cuts and styles to find the one that best highlights your attributes.
How to choose the color of the dress?
The color of the dress is another important item when creating a visual effect. When choosing a color, consider not only trends, but what works best with your complexion and eye color. For those of you with a fairer complexion and blue eyes, soft pastel colors like peach, light blue or soft pink can provide a delicate look. While for dark skin, colors like deep red, deep blue or emerald green can be a fantastic choice. And there is always a classic black dress that suits every complexion and provides a sophisticated look.
