Underfloor heating Belgrade

Underfloor heating

Unlike classic radiators, this system enables an even distribution of heat from the floor to the ceiling, creating an ideal temperature profile for the human body. In addition to eliminating cold zones in the room, underfloor heating frees up space on the walls, giving architects and owners complete freedom in interior design. With proper installation, this system is a long-term solution that significantly reduces monthly energy bills.

On this page, find a list of companies in Belgrade that deal with the installation of underfloor heating in homes.

What are the basic types of underfloor heating?

Two main technologies dominate the market: water and electric underfloor heating. Water systems use a network of pipes placed in the floor through which hot water flows, heated by a boiler or heat pump. They are ideal for larger buildings and new construction due to their high cost-effectiveness. On the other hand, electric underfloor heating uses heating cables or thin meshes. This system is easier to install, does not require connection to the boiler and is often the first choice when renovating apartments or adapting individual rooms such as bathrooms, because it minimally raises the floor level.

Can underfloor heating be placed under each floor covering?

The greatest efficiency of underfloor heating is achieved in combination with materials that conduct heat well, such as ceramic tiles, marble or natural stone. However, thanks to the advancement of technology, it is now possible to install it under wooden coverings as well. It is important to choose multi-layer parquet or laminate that has a clear manufacturer's label that it is suitable for underfloor heating systems. These materials must have a low coefficient of thermal resistance in order for heat to flow freely into the room. Also, it is recommended to avoid very thick carpets that could act as insulators and reduce the heating effect.

Can underfloor heating also cool the space?

One of the most interesting features of the water floor system is the possibility of floor cooling. In combination with a reversible heat pump, the system can circulate cold water in the summer through the same pipes that heat the space in the winter. This way of cooling is extremely pleasant because there is no draft and noise created by air conditioners. However, it is necessary to have smart thermostats and humidity sensors in order to precisely control the water temperature above the dew point, thus preventing the formation of condensation on the floor.
