The building is located in the corner of Knez Mihailova and 1300 kaplara is called "Lahovari palace" - the first two-story building in Knez Mihailova, constructed in 1870. The "Palace Lahovari" - the first two-story building in Knez Mihailova that was constructed around 1870. The "Palace Lahovari" was extended in 1920when it got two more stories which now made it the first 4 story building in the most famous city street.

The person who ordered the building was Simka Lahovari, daughter of Anka Obrenovic Konstantinovic. It was designed by the architect Aleksandar Bugarski who projected up to 126 streets in Belgrade, the most important of which was the building of the National Theatre.
