HOLESCIN COMPOSITION: Milk thistle seed, artichoke leaf, water dock root, dandelion root and herb, immortelle flowers. The strength of HOLESCIN is 1:1, meaning 1 kilogram of medicinal plants yields 1 kilogram of liquid extract, which ensures high concentration of medicinal phyto-substances.

Bad LDL cholesterol causes atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is the most significant and common cause of cardiovascular diseases. It is the thickening of the arterial wall that enters the lumen of the blood vessel, filled with yellowish, pasty contents.

Elevated LDL cholesterol in the blood causes damage to the walls of arteries and arterioles, especially the delicate coronary arteries of the heart and the arteries of the brain. The damaged endothelium of arteries easily oxidizes LDL cholesterol, turning it into LDL-free radicals, which initiate the formation of an atheroma lesion. Over time, the lesion grows, and an atherosclerotic plaque forms. The plaque is filled with LDL cholesterol and other fats, muscle and connective tissue fibers, and calcium salts, leading to the formation of hardened structures. It protrudes into the artery lumen, reducing blood flow, and its uneven surface causes blood clots (thrombus). This can lead to the blockage of the blood vessel, resulting in a heart attack. In some cases, plaque rupture in the blood vessel lumen opens the possibility of thrombus formation. The consequence of an atherosclerotic plaque is coronary heart disease, heart attack, and stroke.

A significant role in the formation of atherosclerosis, in addition to LDL cholesterol, is also played by elevated triglyceride levels in the blood and the state of mental or physical stress in the body, which increases cholesterol production.
