Komanda embraces the responsibility of offering a new dimension of quality living. It strives to honor the words of Momo Kapor, who described the Serbian kafana as a true "social institution," while preserving the tradition that Belgrade is so proud of. After all, Serbia's capital opened its first tavern as early as 1522, a full century before Paris, London, and many other European cities, and even 33 years before the then-mighty Constantinople. Within Belgrade's taverns and restaurants—true universities of life—history was made, literature was written, theatrical masterpieces came to life, the city's first electric light illuminated the night, and the first book fair was held. At Komanda, everyone shares one heartfelt ambition: to create a genuine gathering place devoted to the culture of enjoyment—a place where life, love, and passion are celebrated.
