What is ADR training and who is it for?
ADR training is a specialized course organized in accordance with the European Agreement on the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). It is intended for all drivers who transport goods classified as dangerous - from flammable liquids and gases, to explosives and radioactive materials. After passing the exam, participants receive an ADR certificate, which is valid in all countries that are signatories to the ADR agreement.
Types of ADR training and certificates
ADR training is divided into several levels depending on the type of goods and mode of transport:
• Basic course – for drivers who transport dangerous goods in packages.
• Specialist course for tanks – mandatory for drivers who transport fuel, gases and chemicals in tanks.
• Supplementary courses – for certain classes of goods, such as explosive or radioactive materials.
A certificate is issued for a period of 5 years, after which it is necessary to attend renewed training and pass an exam to extend validity.
Why is ADR training important?
ADR training is of great importance for transport safety:
• ensures the legal transport of dangerous goods,
• reduces the risk of accidents and pollution,
• increases the professional value and competitiveness of drivers on the labor market,
• gives drivers the knowledge and skills needed to respond in emergency situations.
