Back to: Clogs
Clogs are shoes that combine simplicity, practicality and style. Their diversity, from traditional wooden to modern variants, allows you to find a model that will adapt to your needs. Therefore, you can enjoy them both at home and at the workplace. Find out below what kind of clogs there are and how to choose the right ones.
Types of clogs
We will start with traditional clogs with wooden soles. Most often, they are made of birch or maple, and are rounded to provide good support for the feet. However, if you plan to wear it for a longer period of time, consider inserting an additional insole. Plastic clogs are a more modern version of this type of footwear. They are made of rubber or plastic materials. They are very light, waterproof and have holes that allow free air flow to your feet. They are ideal for water activities or wearing in the garden, because they are easy to clean and maintain. Adding insoles to plastic clogs can further improve comfort and reduce fatigue felt after prolonged wear. Leather clogs are a more elegant variant, designed for everyday wear. They are made from high quality leather materials and provide durability, comfort and style. You can find them in one or more colors, with straps, buckles, but also numerous other decorations.
How to choose good clogs?
As with any other piece of footwear, the material is key. Wooden clogs are great for a traditional look and firm foot support, plastic ones are better for activities on the water or around the house, while leather clogs are ideal for everyday wear. Next in line is size. Clogs should be neither too tight nor too big. It is ideal that you have a little space around the toes and that they do not constrict your foot. Be sure to check the comfort and it is not recommended to buy them if you feel any support and discomfort. However, if you don't have much choice or you've fallen in love with a particular pattern, adding anatomical insoles can fix things and provide extra comfort, adapting to the shape of the foot and reducing fatigue during long-term wear. Also, think about the purpose for which you need clogs. Do you need them for the garden, walking, work or some specific activity? Design and functionality should be aligned with the purpose for which you use them.
