Back to: Eyelash extensions
Eyelash extension is a cosmetic technique aimed at lengthening and improving the appearance of natural eyelashes. This technique is performed by placing synthetic or natural hairs on the natural eyelashes, using a special glue.
Russian or classic eyelash extensions?
In classic extensions, one synthetic eyelash is glued to one natural eyelash. This method provides a more natural look and looks like you have thick, long natural lashes. The advantage of the classic extension is that it can be adjusted to individual wishes and the shape of the eye. However, this technique requires a longer installation time (usually around 2-3 hours) and the possibility of damaging the natural eyelashes if performed incorrectly or if poor quality glue is used. A Russian extension, also known as a volume extension, is used to achieve more volume on the eyelashes. In this method, the technique of placing several thinner synthetic hairs on one natural eyelash is used. This procedure provides a fuller look to the eyelashes, and the volume can be adjusted to the desired density. The advantages of the Russian upgrade include a faster installation time and achieving a more dramatic appearance. However, possible disadvantages may include more weight on natural lashes and the possibility of damage if not performed correctly.
Pros and cons of eyelash extensions
Eyelash extensions give the effect of longer, thicker eyelashes, which contributes to a more attractive eye look. This can improve confidence and reduce the need to apply mascara every day. Once lashes are upgraded, there's no need to apply mascara or use an eyelash curler every day, saving time in your morning makeup routine. However, due to improper installation and excessive weight of synthetic hairs, natural eyelashes can be damaged. Therefore, it is important that the upgrade is performed by a trained and experienced technician in order to reduce the risk of damage.
