Computerized installation

Checking your vision is key to maintaining eye health and quality everyday life. Computerized diopter determination is a modern, fast and reliable way to precisely determine diopters and recognize possible vision problems. If you need a prescription, this page contains a list of optical shops and ophthalmology clinics in Belgrade.

What is computerized dioptre testing?
Computerized dioptre testing is a diagnostic process that uses specialized devices, known as autorefractometers, to determine the refractive errors of the eye. The aim of this examination is to identify problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Unlike traditional methods, where the patient actively participates in testing, the computerized process is automated and minimally dependent on the patient's subjective responses. This method provides quick results and is usually used as the first step in diagnostics, after which an ophthalmologist or optometrist analyzes the condition of the eye in more detail.

How does computerized diopter determination work?
The process is simple and completely painless. The patient sits in front of the autorefractometer and focuses his gaze on a certain point inside the device, while the device emits a low-intensity light beam into the eye. This ray is reflected from the retina and returned to the device, where the light reflections are analyzed to calculate refractive errors. The examination takes only a few minutes and does not require special preparation. In some cases, the doctor may apply drops to dilate the pupils to make the results even more accurate, especially in children or patients with specific vision problems.

Is computerized diopter determination accurate?
Computerized diopter determination is extremely accurate and reliable, but is usually used as a preliminary method. The results generated by the device serve as the basis for further testing and confirmation of diopters through additional methods. The precision of the device allows accurate detection of even the smallest refractive errors, including astigmatism. However, in more complex cases, the ophthalmologist uses the results of this examination as a guideline for adjusting glasses or lenses according to the individual needs of the patient.
