Back to: Braking system
The brake system is one of the most important parts of any vehicle and serves to stop the vehicle in a safe and secure manner when the brakes are applied. Although there are many types of brake systems, hydraulic and pneumatic brake systems are the most commonly used, and regardless of what brake system you have on your vehicle, you can find replacement parts listed on this page.
Hydraulic brake system
The hydraulic brake system consists of brake fluid, brake pedal, brake cylinders, brake hoses, brake discs and brake pads. It works by pressing the brake pedal, brake fluid enters the cylinder and travels through the hoses to the discs. Then the brake pad comes into contact with the brake disc, creating friction that stops the vehicle.
Pneumatic brake system
Pneumatic brake system is primarily installed in trucks. This braking system uses compressed air to transfer braking force to the brakes. This means that when the brake pedal is pressed, air is sent to the brake cylinders, creating a force that stops the vehicle.
Electronic Braking System
Today, with the help of modern technology, there are also advanced braking systems, such as the electronic braking system. The electric brake system works by sensors monitoring the speed of the vehicle and the pressure on the brake itself, and when the sensor senses that it is necessary, it sends a signal to the electronic control module, which controls the brake system. Because of the role that the braking system plays in the safety of drivers, passengers and other road users, it is of the utmost importance to regularly maintain and replace the brakes. In this way, safe driving is ensured and accidents on the road are prevented.
